On a special occasion, one may splurge on an expensive bottle of champagne, a trip to a fancy destination, or maybe even a firework show. But how about ordering a custom meteor shower? Well, Japanese company Astro Live Experiences is offering meteor showers on demand for the rich. Yep, you heard it right. The artificial shooting star project is named “Sky Canvas.” The idea is that, the meteor will be reproduced with fallen metallic pebbles released from a satellite about 220 miles above the Earth, just for a few seconds, according to a BuzzFeed News report. This, of course, will be done will be done over any city the big spender chooses and there will be bright colors like blue, orange, and green. Specific cost is still unclear, but the company says it hopes it will be under forty grand. The idea was originally planned for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but starting summer 2019, a meteor shower on demand is available if you have the money. Otherwise you’ll have to settle with the next normal meteor shower.
