Everyone has heard the tales of Bigfoot, the mysterious and elusive forest-dwelling creature that is probably... definitely not real. But one Southern California resident is sure she spotted one in the forest in Lake Arrowhead. And now, Press-Enterprise reports she is filing a lawsuit against the state of California to recognize and protect the species. Claudia Ackley claims she saw the creature in a tree while on a hike with her two daughters. She even got a cellphone video, which ABC30 reported. But it was nearly dark and the video is... less than convincing. When she called local authorities, they dismissed it and assured her it was just a bear. But she claims she knows what she saw. “He looked like a Neanderthal man with hair all over him,” she said about the creature. Her lawsuit hopes to force the state to officially recognize the species in order to protect the creature and the public. In the meantime, Ackley is leaving out fruit and snacks in hopes of making contact once again.
